Als Leichtbau-Pionier entwarf Conrad Roland in den 1960er-Jahren Skizzen und Modelle für Hängehäuser und Raumnetze mit tragenden Stahlseilkonstruktionen. Die Studie zeigt eine Halle mit Decken, die in einem Netz aus vertikalen und horizontalen Seilen hängen.
Die Hängerseile sind zwischen einem tragenden Dachnetz und einem unteren Seilnetz vorgespannt. Mit den zweiaxial gespannten Horizontalseilen entsteht ein kubisches Netz mit Maschen von etwa 9 x 9 x 3,6  Metern.

A pioneer in lightweight construction, Conrad Roland designed sketches and models of suspended houses and spatial nets with load-bearing steel cable structures in the 1960s. The study shows a hall with suspended ceilings in the form of a network of vertical and horizontal ropes. These suspension ropes are pre-tensioned between a load-bearing roof network and a lower network of ropes. A cubic network with meshes measuring approximately 9 x 9 x 3.6 metres is created by the biaxially tensioned horizontal ropes.
